Christiano Fragoso

Christiano Fragoso has practiced criminal law, with a focus on Economic Criminal Law, since 1998. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law in the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs at the Law School of State University of Rio de Janeiro.

He holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Law from State University of Rio de Janeiro (2011) and a Master’s degree in Criminal Sciences from Candido Mendes University (2007). He also completed postgraduate studies in Economic and European Criminal Law at University of Coimbra/Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences (2004), as well as in Criminal Advocacy at Candido Mendes University (2000). In addition, he completed a course in Economic Criminal Law at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He served as a Council Member of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Section from 2013 to 2015 and as Presiding Auditor of the Superior Court of Justice for Equestrian Sports between 2011 and 2013.

He is the author of four books — Authoritarianism and the Penal System, Criminal Repression of Strikes, The Crimes of Theft and Robbery, and Criminological and Dogmatic Reflections on the Crime of Disobedience — as well as numerous legal articles.
