We present to scholars of Criminology in Brazil the translation of one of the last works by the master Séverin-Carlos Versele, who passed away recently. It is an anthological text on white-collar crime, serving as an indispensable reference for those studying the subject. We also publish, in translation, another excellent work by Professor Wolfgang Schöne—already familiar to our readers—in which he revisits the study of the concept of action and omission, a topic that had its moment and remains widely debated. Professor Nilo Batista addresses a timely subject that has resonated intensely in our context, viewed through the lens of an urgent legislative reform: abortion. In the Comments and Current Affairs section, we publish the official report prepared by the journal’s director to serve as the official statement of the OAB regarding the government’s draft bill on traffic crimes. That draft bill, along with its statement of reasons (exposição de motivos), is also included in this issue. Furthermore, we present, in a exquisite translation, the remarkable study by Professor Giuliano Vassalli on the Rocco Code—which remains in force—as well as incisive notes by Celso Delmanto concerning the unconstitutionality of Decree-Law No. 1,650, which the courts ultimately recognized.
