This work was co-authored with sociologist Yolanda Catão as part of the research program of the Institute of Penal Sciences at the Cândido Mendes Law School during 1975. The study is divided into two parts. The first presents general considerations regarding the research subject and the problem of drug abuse, along with information on the methodology employed. The second part contains the analysis and interpretation of the data, as well as conclusions and recommendations.
